Extracting steep slope for road sliding accidents during heavy snowfall

Road accidents caused by freezing occur because of the low friction. In Korea, mountain is widely distributed, it is necessary to control the steep slope section. A steep slope section was derived for Yeongdong Expressway. The spatial data used are digital topographic map and LiDAR data. In order to extract the steep slope section, a section with a slope ratio of 3% or more between the lowest and the highest elevation was derived by moving the 1km unit section in units of 5m. As a result of comparing the spatial data, it was confirmed that a similar road section was derived. It was confirmed that even if a digital topographic map of medium resolution is used, a road freezing section can be sufficiently derived.
