Space relations and students with an immigrant background in Italy

In the Italian education system there were 876.802 foreign students (school year 2019-2020). The school is an important place where the relations are constructed. The school system and foreign students produce relations that are intersecting the space.

The e-poster analyses the students with an immigrant background. It’s divided in two parts. The first one illustrates the increase of the number of foreign students and the map stresses the differences between the North and the South of Italy. The second part is dedicated to illustrate empirical experiences. The Italian approach is characterized by contradictory relationship, between policy, teaching strategies and educational experiences and that influence and change the school space and place.
