PARTICULATE MATTER AIR POLLUTION FROM ROAD TRANSPORT

This report presents the results of the analysis and systematization of the available studies on particulate matter air pollution from road transport.

The particulate matter produced by road transport can be divided into exhaust emission source and non-exhaust emission source. Exhaust particles, whether from diesel or gasoline fueled engines, form a very complex aerosol system. The emission source of vehicle non-exhaust particulate matter includes brake wear, tire wear, road wear and road dust, among which road dust is an indirect source.
